2011 Pics

Daddy, Marissa and Isaiah making Easter eggs.

Marissa has turned into quite the little soccer player. Unfortunately I cannot seem to get any of her goals in pictures since I am so excited all I do is just yell and jump around.

Elijah's 3rd birthday picture. He wanted a dinosaur birthday! It was great. We celebrated at Grandma Teresa's house. We had a wonderful time.

Las Cruces, NM- February 4th. We got eight inches of snow (that's unheard of down here). School was cancelled for three days due to -4 degree weather. The temperature was a record breaker. The kids were especially excited to go outside. Luckily we have inherited our Denver cousins winter apparal. It worked like a charm. Elijah only stayed outside for 4 minutes. He was miserable and had tubes put in his ears the day before. Marissa and Isaiah stayed outside for about 1/2 hour. When they came in I rubbed their toes and gave them hot chocolate to eat (Just like my mom did for me when I was little-THE BEST!)

Christmas Break 2010-Marissa took a 1 Day horseback riding lesson and craft day! She had so much fun! She wants to be a cowgirl and own her own horse some day. Grandpa Bill would have been proud.

Hello All! It has been many, many months since I have posted. I got on Facebook and totally forgot about my blog. Here are some updated pics.

Here Kitty,Kitty!

Hey there! Haven't posted in a LONG time. Can't believe it. Soccer has started and I haven't taken any pics of Isaiah-I keep forgetting because when he plays it is just so cute that forget the camera. Here is a pic of Elijah in his kitty cat towel (it used to be Megans, Paige's, Kenna's, Marissa's and Isaiah's). Talk about a hand-me-down. Maybe we will see Ana in it one day. I think it is becoming the family favorite.

Gardening With Grandma

Here is Marissa looking innocent engough. She is watering the shrubs. Just a few seconds after this-Crazy Marissa. She was chasing us all over the yard trying to get us wet.
Marissa was so excited to help Grandma plant flowers in her new giant pots.

Smile for the picture!
Isaiah got into the action too-even if it was only for a few minutes before he was "done with that"

Elijah is taking a break with Charlie (Grandma Sue's boyfriend)

Elijah finally had it. He took a long nap!

How sweet it was! When I looked over, I saw Isaiah pushing Elijah on Gradnma Sue's swing. Elijah kept saying more, more, more. Isaiah did this for quite some time.

San Diego (June)

Yes, I know it is already August. It was nearly impossible to post a blog with the kids this summer. I know, I know, I could have if I tried really hard but I didn't. Here goes! I have a few months and trips to catch up on.
This is the palm tree that Marissa climbed. Oh, yeah, she DID do it all by herself. All of the people around couldn't believe that she did it. The whole crowd cheered. Marissa flew by the other kid (who by the way was up there five minutes). He never rang the belll, but Marissa did. Go ROO!!!!!
Here she is on the way down after she rang the bell! That poor kid was too scared to move at that point.

Here is Elijah at the Natural History Museum. He wanted to take that Wooly Mammouth with us.
Marissa and Mommy with some COOL 3-D shades on!

Elijah with Elmo at Sea World. He wouldn't go near the real one but wanted to see him all day long.

Daddy, Isaiah, Elijah and Marissa at Coronado Beach (our favorite beach in the San Diego area)

Fun in the water. The kids LOVED the water. They were in it most of the day.

Mommy, Isaiah (can you tell he is cold?) and Marissa at Mission Beach. It was Ana's birthday (1year) and we had just arrived from Phoenix.

Ana, Aunt Sara and Isaiah at Ana's B-day party! She loved her cupcake. I think she even tried to eat two, I think!
Uncle Tom spending some quality time with Marissa. She LOVES her uncle.

Fishing with Papa, Grandma Teresa & Daddy

As soon as they arrived in the Jemez Mountains Elijah fell in. Grandma said that he wanted to be in the water the whole time. He had fun splashing around and chasing the fish away.
Marissa and Isaiah are enjoying themselves. I am not sure but it looks like she wants to keep fish in that ziplock bag.
Papa is getting the fishing poles ready for the day. Marissa got a new fancy retractable fishing pole for her birthday from Grandma Teresa and Papa.
Elijah got cold as the day went on and had to put on his big brother's long sleeve shirt.
Yeah, I like the mountains. I am having fun! What kind of mischief can I get in?
Daddy and the boys! I guess they didn't read the No Tresspassing Sign that is hanging up.
May 29, 2010
Daddy, Grandma Teresa, Papa, Marissa, Isaiah, and Elijah all went to the Jemez Mountains for a day of fishing and fun. Mommy stayed home with Grandma Sue and had a girls day out (this was one of mommy's best times). Marissa received a fishing pole for her birthday and could not wait to go and use it.

Marissa's Kindergarten Graduation

Marissa is shown here with her kinder graduation certificate.
Here is our reader! She was one of three kinder students out of three classes to get the reading above grade level award in English.

Marissa also received the Mathematical Thinker Award for having math skills above grade level. I think there were four or five students that got this one.
Here is Marissa with (L) Mr. Trujillo-Principal and (R) Mr. Rappanut- Assistant Principal

Here is Marissa with her teacher, Mrs. Gonzales. She really had a great time with her this year. I love that Marissa had a great connection with her Kinder teacher. I could not believe that we got Marissa to wear a dress. Like mother, like daughter. She does look beautiful and was excited because another girl, her friend Mia, had the same dress. (When she gets older, this will not be so cool)
Marissa worked very hard this year. She is reading at the middle of 1st grade level in English and did finish at grade level in Spanish reading. We were worried about Spanish Reading because she does not have a very large vocabulary in spanish since we don't speak spanish at home, but she learned her sight words and was able to decode the words necessary for reading at the end of kinder level by the end of the year! GO ROO!!!!
Marissa also ended the year at second grade level in Mathematics. She is like her daddy- a mathematical whizz. We didn't even know that she could add and subtract larger numbers with out a picture representation until she told us in the car one day what 12+13 was. I couldn't believe it. She said she learned how to do it on her Leapster. Thank god for the learning games on leapster.
Marissa is going to continue in the Dual Language program next year in 1st grade. She is going to have an incredible 1st grade English teacher. YEAH!!!!!! Marissa is a very goal oriented person who makes goals for herself often (Does this sound like daddy, or what?). She also had a great year with Art and Music. She LOVED both of those classes.
We are proud of Marissa!

Marissa's 6th Birthday!

Marissa opening a present on her real birthday May 19. She got a Wii.
Marissa, Isaiah (who wanted to blow out all of the candles) and Elijah! Yummy in my Tummy!
Marissa loved her Wii horse game that Grandma Sue gave her. Can you tell by that incredibly excited smile?
Marissa woke up to balloons on her bed and all over her room. Happy Birthday Marissa!
Marissa had her party for her friends at Chucky E. Cheese's. Here she is opening a present.
Since Marissa LOVES horses, she got an awesome cake with three horses on it.
Marissa is having fun at Chuck E. Cheese's with lots of her friends. Marissa is in her crown for the day with friend Ashleigh!

We can't believe that Marissa is six. Time has flown by WAY TOO FAST. I was so happy that she decided to have her birthday somewhere other than the house. I did not have to make food or clean up! Yahoo! That was my favorite part. Well, really my favorite part was to see Marissa smiling as big as she could. Grandma Teresa and Papa came down and brought Auntie Sylvia and Santiago with them. We were so happy to see them. This was their first time in Las Crucess- hopefully not their last. The boys all had lots of fun together. It was nice for Isaiah to have Santiago here since they are the same age.
We were also very excited to have Uncle Chandler with us. He is definately a trooper. He had his wisdom teeth out on Friday and rode down to Las Cruces Saturday for the party. He was a little swollen and in a bit of pain. Marissa was so happy that he was there. She loves her Uncle Chandler.
Uncle Matt, Aunt Valerie, Bobby (now referred to as Robert) and baby Mateo were also there. They made the trip in their new fancy, schmancy, Jeep Commander. Bobby was a great help with all of the kids. Poor kiddo, he had to sit at the kid table and watch them all during breakfast on Sunday but he survived. We were all blessed to have great company this weekend and can't wait to have more people visit in the future. It seems like we rarely have company from out of town.
